Meet
Blake Sanders is a husband, father, landscape architect, professor, and the Immediate Past Mayor of West Pelzer.
Sanders grew up in West Pelzer. Sanders and his wife, Ashley, returned in 2007 to put down roots and raise their family in the community.
As President of Studio Main, a planning and landscape architecture firm in West Pelzer, Sanders serves the Southeast, asking one question – ‘What is best for the people?’ Sanders has nearly two decades of experience working with national and international planning and design firms developing parks, streets, and strategic economic development plans.
The first in his family to graduate from college, Sanders holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Clemson University and is now a lecturer at the University.
Blake knows the value of hard work and community involvement. He has served in many local roles: Policy Member with the Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study and the Anderson Area Transportation Study; past President of Anderson Co. Municipal Assoc.; and past President of Palmetto Business Assoc. He also volunteers with The Lot Project and Meals on Wheels, and works with the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Anderson County, and Anderson County Economic Development.
Blake cherishes family time. You can often find him enjoying the parks and beautiful outdoors with his wife, Ashley, and children, Lane and Gracie. The Sanders Family also enjoys helping out at The Lincoln Taproom, a small community, family-oriented taproom – owned and operated by Blake’s parents.
